UNIQUE + UNITED - NORTH DEVON
What does unconditional love look like for you?
We create fine art portraits that celebrate the extraordinary relationship you share with your dog — so you can see it, feel it, and live with it every single day.
We create fine art portraits that celebrate the extraordinary relationship you share with your dog — so you can see it, feel it, and live with it every single day.
We built Unique + United for exactly this: for people who see their dog as one of the most important relationships in their life, and who want something beautiful to show for it — something that lives on their wall and stops them in their tracks every single morning.
Not a digital file. Not a folder of photographs. A piece of art that grows more meaningful with every year that passes.
"He's my boy. She's my girl. They're everything to me."
"I have so many photographs on my phone, but nothing beautiful on the wall."
"I want something that really captures his personality — not just what he looks like."
"I know we won't have her forever. I keep meaning to do something about that."
Every session we create is built around one thing: understanding what your dog truly means to you — and making sure that's exactly what we capture.
✦ We spend time getting to know your dog before we ever pick up a camera — their personality, their quirks, the things that make them entirely, wonderfully them.
✦ We work in black and white — not as a style choice, but because removing colour leaves only what truly matters: expression, connection, personality, feeling.
✦ We help you design bespoke artwork for your home — not a file to be stored, but a piece that lives on your walls and becomes more precious with every year that passes.
✦ We have never, in over seven years, sent a client home without photographs that moved them. That is the only standard we work to.
1. DISCOVER
A conversation before anything else. We learn what your dog means to you, who you want to share the experience with, and where in your home you'd love your artwork to live.
2. PHOTOGRAPH
A relaxed, guided studio session built entirely around your dog's personality and your bond together. No rigid posing. No pressure. Just real, honest moments — captured beautifully.
3. DESIGN
We sit with you and see your photographs for the first time together. Then we design bespoke artwork for your home — choosing pieces that feel completely, perfectly right.
4. DISPLAY
Your artwork arrives, goes on your walls, and becomes part of your home. Part of your daily life. A reminder, every morning, of the relationship you chose to celebrate while you still could.
Over seven years we've welcomed hundreds of dogs and their humans into the studio. Every concern we've heard, we've answered — not with reassurance, but with results. Here are the most common ones.
We're not looking for still. We're looking for real. We know how to work with every energy level, every breed, every personality.
You won't feel like you're in front of one. Our entire approach is built around making you forget we're there.
We know this. We allow plenty of time to settle. The studio is calm, quiet, and designed to feel safe. We follow your dog's lead — always.
The honest answer: the right time is while they're here. The photographs that matter most are the ones taken before you wished you'd taken them sooner.
Every piece of artwork is designed specifically for your space — your walls, your light, your home. Nothing is off-the-shelf. Everything is made to last a lifetime.
Sarah wanted the photographic experience to celebrate the extraordinary relationship she has with Hetty, her Bichon Frise and “best friend.” Hetty came into Sarah’s life during a difficult time and has completely changed her world.
Jayne and Chris wanted a photographic experience because Molly represents something much bigger to them than simply being their dog — she helped them understand what family means to them.
Lynda and Greg wanted a photographic experience because Gordon has become such an important part of their everyday lives that they wanted to celebrate what he brings to their family while they can.
Sarah and Mark wanted a photographic experience to celebrate the incredible bond they share with their two Boxers, Pippa and Rudi.
For Nina, Editor-in-Chief of Wunderdog magazine—a publication dedicated to championing rescue dogs and their welfare—dogs have always been more than just companions.
Stephen and Han had often talked about capturing their dog Stanley properly, but like many people, life always seemed too busy—until it wasn’t.
From the moment she met him, she knew he was the one — a constant companion through life’s ups and downs. Over the years, Byko has been more than a pet; he has been a source of comfort, laughter, and unwavering support.
Sandy and Nigel came to the photographic experience with a heartfelt desire to celebrate and honour their beloved Sprocker, Luna, while she’s still in her prime.
Franki came to the photographic experience wanting to celebrate the extraordinary bond she shares with her cocker spaniel, Simba—a golden, soulful companion with a trademark lion-like tail, spiked topknot, and show-dog strut
Mary sought a photographic experience as a way to honour and celebrate the bond she shares with her miniature dachshund, Eddy
Pippa chose to have a photographic experience because she wanted to capture the deep, soulful connection she shares with her dogs—her constant companions, her joy, her reason for being.
For Kate and Chris, Moose is more than just a dog—she’s the heart of their little family.
Aimee, a compassionate vet, chose to have a photographic experience, with her partner Ian, to honour her beloved dog Bear - an Anatolian Shepherd cross she had rescued from a beach in Lesbos in 2012.
For Sarah and Simon, this portrait experience was about more than capturing smiling faces—it was about celebrating how far their family has come and the incredible strength and love that has carried them through
For Candice, Skye isn’t just a dog—she’s her best friend, her sister, and her greatest companion. Their bond is something truly special, filled with unconditional love, playful moments, and the kind of loyalty that only a dog can offer. From the moment Skye climbed into her lap as a 10-week-old puppy, Candice knew she’d found "the one."
For Rosalind and Simon, capturing this special chapter of their family life with Harry and Issi was so much more than just photos—it was about preserving memories of a time they are incredibly proud of.
For Claire and Chris, Bumble isn’t just a pet—he’s their child, their lifeline, and their daily dose of joy and energy. After 11 years together, they wanted to celebrate everything Bumble means to them with a portrait that truly captures his spirit.
We recently had the honour of working with Helen, Lorna and Nora who were featured on the Disney Documentary 'Dancing with Dogs'. Several years ago Lorna was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis which severely effected her mobility. She discovered 'Freestyle Dog Dancing' with her dog Nora which, in her words, got her moving and gave her purpose (according to her Dr it probably saved her life!)
THE MOMENT IS NOW
We'd love to talk with you about creating something extraordinary together. No obligation — just a warm conversation about your dog, your bond, and what you'd love to hold onto forever.
