RACHAEL, DEBBIE, SKYLA & LOTTIE
Occasionally you meet people who's outlook on life and bravery in adversity is genuinely inspiring, if not jaw dropping - on this shoot we met 4!
Rachael originally contacted us to have some portraits taken of her doggy Lottie who has been her reason to keep fighting and smiling through her rare health illnesses. Through our conversations we then also discovered that her Mum Debbie, while also caring for Rachael, had fostered and then adopted Sklya, age 6, who has 1P356 Depletion Syndrome which causes severe intellectual disability and behaviour problems. The four of them provide unwavering support for each other in so many ways and the love and joy they all share together was truly moving and a joy to photograph.
Rachael, Debbie, Lottie and Skyla made such and impression on us all here at Unique + United and we were genuinely humbled by the words that Rachel wrote in our guest book when she came to collect her artwork yesterday. (See below)
'Wow, what can I say….there truly are not enough words to express how much of an incredible experience you gave us here. You captured all the quirks and unique bond between Lottie, Skyla, my mum and I with photographs we will all treasure forever! No matter how tough times get in life, our time with you will always make me smile and I’m so excited to look at the photos even day. What you do is incredible and I cannot thank you all enough for how welcoming you were. Thank you for this experience. The world is blessed with your talent!
